Our Track Record

Past Programmes

A look back at what young Barbadian innovators have already built, explored, and achieved.

Innovators HQ Summer Program 2025

Our founding 2025 pilot brought together 33 students aged 7โ€“13 at the Oceana Innovation Hub for four weeks of hands-on STEM. Campers built solar-powered robot cars, engineered working wind turbine models, and installed a fully functional aquaponics system. Field trips took the cohort to the Ashton Wind Farm and Carlisle Bay for a snorkeling ocean day, and every single participant showed measurable improvement in their swimming ability. The programme was oversubscribed โ€” the reason we’re expanding into two dedicated tracks for 2026.

Junior Anglers’ Camp 2026

Presented free of charge by the Barbados Fisheries Division in partnership with Innovators HQ, Don Shark Aquatics, Ebony Anglers, and the Barbados Game Fishing Association, Junior Anglers’ Camp welcomed campers aged 8โ€“13 to Port St. Charles Marina for a full day on the water. Kids learned rod & reel basics, proper knot tying and tackle care, safe casting technique, and open-water safety, alongside fish identification and the principles of ocean stewardship. Beyond the fishing fundamentals, campers left with a real appreciation for marine conservation and the sportsmanship that comes with responsible angling.

FAQ

Got Questions?

What happened at the 2025 pilot?

+
The 2025 pilot ran July 28โ€“August 22 at the Oceana Innovation Hub with 33 students aged 7โ€“13. They built solar robot cars, wind turbine models, and a fully-functional aquaponics system, visited the Ashton Wind Farm, snorkeled in Carlisle Bay, and 100% showed measurable swimming improvement. The programme was oversubscribed โ€” which is why we’re expanding in 2026.
How do I register for Explorers or The Next Gen Lab?

+
Registration is open now! Explorers (ages 7โ€“11) and The Next Gen Lab (ages 12โ€“18) both run July 13โ€“August 7, 2026 at Solidarity House. Use the โ€œRegister Nowโ€ button on each programmeโ€™s card above, or scroll down to the Enrolment section โ€” each links to that cohortโ€™s real registration form. Spots are limited and early sign-ups save $25/week.
Does my child need prior experience?

+
None at all. Our 2025 pilot successfully welcomed students with no prior STEM experience. Whether your child has never touched a robot or is already coding at home, we meet them where they are.
Are scholarships available?

+
Yes. We offer need-based financial assistance, corporate-sponsored places, and flexible payment plans. No child will be turned away due to fees. Contact innovatorshqsp@gmail.com to apply confidentially.
How do I apply for a scholarship?

+
We’d love to help make Innovators HQ possible for your child! To apply, simply email innovatorshqsp@gmail.com with a short note covering: (1) your child’s interest in STEM, robotics, or sustainability, (2) a brief description of your family’s financial need, and (3) which programme you’re applying for (Explorers or The Next Gen Lab). Our administration team reviews applications on a rolling basis and will follow up with you directly on eligibility, available funding, and deadlines โ€” so don’t hesitate to reach out even if you’re unsure whether you qualify. Every inquiry is kept confidential.
How can organisations get involved?

+
Companies can donate equipment, host a field visit, sponsor a student, or guest-lecture at sessions. Contact us at innovatorshqsp@gmail.com to explore partnership opportunities.
